DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL
Cala en Blanes, situada a 4 km de Ciutadella, con orientación sur, es la cala más grande de las que hay por la zona, aunque también conserva el encanto de entrante estrecho y alargado. Situada entre la punta de Cala en Blanes y punta Nati, con un entorno de rocas y vegetación bajas, es una playa que no ha constituido nunca un sistema de dunas desarrollado a causa de la estrechez y la protección del viento.
Detrás de la playa se encuentra una zona de recreo conocida como el palmeral de Cala en Blanes, dada la gran cantidad de palmeras que allí se concentran, y que antiguamente eran los huertos de los predios de la zona.
Si miramos hacia el mar, al lado derecho encontramos un pequeño embarcadero, rellanos en las rocas a diferentes niveles y escaleras para facilitar el baño. Hay que destacar el camino de sa Farola, que rodea la costa hasta el puerto de Ciutadella, y que se caracteriza por el afloramiento, con gran detalle y calidad, de las rocas calcáreas del mioceno superior.
La urbanización de Cala en Blanes fue una de las primeras zonas edificadas del municipio destinadas al turismo, y continúa siendo actualmente un punto de referencia en este sector.
Esta playa está certificada por AENOR con un sistema de gestión ambiental según la norma UNE:EN ISO 14.001:2015.
Accesos
Por la carretera de Cala en Blanes, se llega a la urbanización, desde la que se puede acceder directamente a la playa. También se puede acceder con transporte público con la línea 61. Pueden consultar las líneas y los horarios (https://menorca.tib.org/es/inici) .
Dimensiones
La playa de cala en Blanes tiene una longitud de 30 m por 50 m de anchura; aunque las dimensiones son variables y dependen de los temporales marítimos y de las lluvias.

Servicios
De junio a septiembre dispone de servicio de balizamiento y de socorrismo, hay baños, duchas, alquiler de hamacas y sombrillas, y actividades náuticas en verano. Hay dos servicios de bar a pie de playa durante la temporada de verano. También hay zona de pícnic con barbacoas en el palmeral; pero solo se pueden utilizar del 15 de octubre a finales de abril, fuera de la época de peligro de incendio. Todo el año hay servicio de transporte público.
Accesibilidad
Los baños y las duchas están adaptados y hay aparcamientos reservados para personas con movilidad reducida. Hay una rampa y una pasarela de madera en la arena que llega hasta la mitad de la playa para facilitar el acceso, pero la playa no está totalmente adaptada.

Es una cala pequeña, tranquila, con fácil acceso, zona de sombra y con todo tipo de servicios disponibles alrededor sobretodo para familias con niños pequeños gracias a la oferta complementaria de la zona.
Descripción general
Calespiques, situada a 7 km de Ciutadella, con orientación sudoeste, recibe el nombre en plural ya que conforman este entrante dos estrechas y pintorescas calas, de altos acantilados y aguas profundas, con acabados en minúsculas playas de arena relativamente fina y de tonos blancos. Situadas entre la Punta des Canaló y el Cap de Banyos, las playitas se sitúan en el fondo de un estrecho barranco. Se trata de una playa urbana situada en el núcleo turístico, que recibe el mismo nombre que la cala: Calespiques.

Esta cala no se ve a simple vista, encontrará carteles indicativos para bajar hacia el entrante por diferentes y pequeños caminos de tierra y piedra. Solo se puede ir a pie aunque el acceso es fácil. Resulta un paseo agradable entre la vegetación del pequeño barranco dejando atrás la urbanización.
Descripción general
Cala en Forcat, a 7 km de Ciutadella, con orientación sur, está situada entre la punta des Bol des Gerret y la punta de ses Dobles, y al fondo de los pequeños barrancos que forman la entrada. Las playas, pequeñas, de arena blanca y fina, se encuentran al final de dos estrechos entrantes rodeados de vegetación y roca. Está resguardada de todos los vientos y es idónea por practicar buceo. Hay plataformas o «rellanos» en diferentes niveles y escaleras hasta el mar que facilitan el baño; como si nos encontrásemos en una piscina natural.
Justo detrás de la segunda cala, en el sendero del barranco, hay restos romanos, excavados en la roca: siete capillas contiguas en forma de media cúpula. Encima, en la roca plana, hay dos tumbas excavadas; se cree que son de la alta edad media.
Accesos
Acceso rodado por la ronda Nord (RC-1) en dirección a Cala en Blanes y, después, se toma la avenida dels Delfins. Otra opción para ir a pie o en bicicleta es por el camino de sa Farola, desde Ciutadella, cruzar la playa de cala en Blanes, enfilar hacia la avenida dels Delfins y tomar el entrante a mano izquierda. También se puede llegar en transporte público con la línea 61 (consultad los horarios en : https://menorca.tib.org/es/inici).

La cala tiene una longitud de unos 250 metros y una anchura aproximada de 25 metros, y tiene dos entrantes que finalizan en dos playas de pequeñas dimensiones.

Esta cala no se ve a simple vista, encontrará carteles indicativos para bajar hacia el entrante por diferentes caminos de acceso a pié. Es un paseo corto, fácil y agradable entre la vegetación de los pequeños barrancos que hay en la zona.
Descripción general
Cala en Brut, a 6 km de Ciutadella y con orientación oeste, es un pequeño entrante con acantilados de altura media que van muriendo hasta un rincón estrecho de un metro justo de arena. Situado entre la punta de ses Dobles y la punta de sa Beca, en la urbanización de Torre del Ram, se han pavimentado diferentes plataformas (llamadas «rellanos») y escaleras hasta el mar para facilitar el baño. En dirección oeste de la cala se pueden encontrar algunos entrantes que esconden rincones dignos de descubrir; y es Vermells, un mirador que nos mostrará un perfil bajo y plano de la costa de poniente. Si, en cambio, escogemos ir en dirección levante, encontraremos es Clot d’en Barceló, un pequeño entrante con fondo ideal para bucear; se puede acceder al baño, pero se debe tener en cuenta la profundidad.

Nuestra recomendación
Este pequeño entrante tiene fácil acceso en un entorno urbanizado pero tranquilo, aunque no se recomienda para niños pequeños o personas con movilidad reducida. Si accede al agua desde las plataformas de hormigón ha de tener en cuenta que, hay más de 2m de hondo. Si llega hasta el final del entrante puede acceder gradualmente al mar.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Cala en Blanes is 4 km from Ciutadella and faces south. It is the largest cove in the area, but still retains its charm with a long and narrow entrance into the inlet. Lying between the points of Cala en Blanes and Nati, and surrounded by rocks and low-lying vegetation, this beach has never developed a dunar system due to its narrowness and being sheltered from the wind.
There is a recreational area at the back of the beach known as “Palmeral de Cala en Blanes” because of all the palm-trees there, and which was originally vegetable plots belonging to the nearby farming estates.
Looking out to sea, you will see a small jetty with platform levels and steps in the rock that provide access into the sea for swimming. It is also worth highlighting the Sa Farola path that hugs the coast as far as the port in Ciutadella, and is renowned for its rocky outcrop of great quality and detail, in addition to the Upper Miocene limestone there.
The urbanisation of Cala en Blanes was one of the first areas to be built specifically for tourism in the district, and continues to be a popular spot for visitors.
This beach holds the AENOR certificate, with an environmental management system in accordance with regulation UNE:EN ISO 14.001:2015.
Access

The beach at Cala en Blanes is 30m long and 50m wide; however, these dimensions vary and it depends on the maritime storms and rain.

From June to September, there is a buoy and lifeguard service, along with bathrooms, showers, sunbed and sunshade rental and nautical activities. There are two bar services right by the beach in the summer season. Visitors can furthermore enjoy the picnic area with a barbecue in the palm grove; but the barbecues can only be used from the 15th October to the end of April, when there is no fire hazard. Public transport is available all year round.
Accessibility
The bathrooms and showers are adapted and there are disabled parking spaces available for visitors with reduced mobility. A ramp and a wooden handrail leads to the centre of the beach for easy access, but the beach itself is not fully adapted.
Our recommendation
This is a small and quiet cove, with easy access, a shaded area and all sorts of services and nearby facilities that are particularly suitable for families with young children.

Calespiques is 7 km from Ciutadella and faces southwest. Its name is plural as the area comprises two narrow and picturesque coves with high cliffs and deep water leading into tiny beaches of pale white sand. Situated between the point Punta des Canaló and Cap de Banyos, the beaches are actually at the end of a narrow ravine. This is an urban beach area in a tourist zone that bears the same name as the cove: Calespiques.

This cove is not immediately visible, so watch out for signs to reach it via different small and rocky dirt paths. It is a pleasant walk through the greenery of the little ravine, and away from the urbanisation.
General description
Cala en Forcat is 7 km from Ciutadella and faces south, lying between the points Bol des Gerret and Ses Dobles at the bottom of some small ravines that form the entrance. The beaches, large and with fine white sand, are at the end of two narrow entrances surrounded with vegetation and rock. They are sheltered from all the winds and make a perfect spot for snorkelling. There are different levels of rock platforms and stairs to access the sea, which is like a beautiful and natural pool.
Just behind the second beach and along the path to the ravine, seven adjoining shrines in half-dome shapes are carved into the rock. Above, on the flat rock surface, are two excavated tombs which are believed to date back to the High Middle Ages.

Access is from the ring road Nord (RC-1) heading to Cala en Blanes, from which you then take the Avenida dels Delfins. Another option is to walk or cycle along the Sa Farola lane from Ciutadella. You cross the beach at Cala en Blanes, heading towards the Avenida dels Delfins, and then take the entrance on the left. There is also a public bus service, line 61. This cove is not immediately visible, please look out for the signs to get to the entrance via various footpaths. These are short, easy and pleasant with all the surrounding greenery of the little ravines in the area.
General description
Cala en Brut is 6 km from Ciutadella and faces west, with a small entrance hemmed in by medium-height cliffs that diminish in size on reaching a metre-wide sandy inlet. Situated between the points Ses Dobles and Sa Beca in the Torre del Ram urbanisation, there are various platform levels and steps in the rock that provide access into the sea for swimming. Some of the youngsters perform acrobatic dives off these platforms, but we do not recommend it for safety reasons as the water is shallow in several points. The west side of the bay contains entrances that are well worth exploring; and the Es Vermells lookout point has fine views along the west coast. On the east side of the bay lies es Clot d’en Barceló, a small inlet that is ideal for snorkelling. It is also pleasant to swim there, but beware of the shallow water.
As for the marine environment of Cala en Brut, the seabed is sandy inside the cove, while the sides are rocky. The Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows start where the bay widens, about 130 metres from the beach.

This small inlet is easily accessed through a quiet urban area, but it is not recommended for children or people with reduced mobility. Access to the water is by concrete platforms, and the water is also about 2 metres deep. The end of the inlet gradually leads out to the open sea.
