Descripció general
Cala Blanca, situada a uns escassos 5 km direcció sud de Ciutadella i amb orientació oest, deu el nom actual al blanquinós color de l’arena.
Exposada als vents de component oest, forma una entrada de 250 metres, i s’obre cap a ponent en el litoral rocós de baixa alçada. Al marge esquerre de la bocana, mirant la mar, es veu l’illot de cala Blanca. Aquesta cala destaca per la presència d’un patrimoni tant geològic com històric dignes de ser reconeguts, com són la multitud de coves i forats d’origen càrstic; així com de restes talaiòtiques, com la naveta de Perelleta, que es troba al costat de la platja.
Zona tranquil·la amb unes fantàstiques panoràmiques de la posta de sol, amb el perfil de l’illa de Mallorca.
Aquesta platja està certificada per AENOR amb un sistema de gestió ambiental segons la norma UNE:EN ISO 14001:2015.

Des de la carretera de Ciutadella al cap d’Artrutx (Me-24) s’arriba a la urbanització de Cala Blanca, on la platja hi té estacionament associat. També s’hi pot accedir amb transport públic, amb la línia de bus número 64. En podeu consultar les línies i els horaris en (https://menorca.tib.org/web/cime/).
Dimensions
La platja de Cala Blanca té unes dimensions de 30 m de llargada per 42 m d’amplada, tot i que les dimensions són variables i depenen dels temporals marítims i de les pluges.

Platja tipus A en entorn urbà i amb presència de tot tipus de serveis.
Serveis
Disposa de servei d’aparcament, transport públic, zona de pícnic, parc infantil, activitats nàutiques i restaurants tot l’any.
De juny a setembre hi ha servei de socorrisme, d’abalisament, banys, dutxes, lloguer de gandules i para-sols.
Durant l’estiu hi ha més serveis de restauració oberts, també hi ha farmàcia, supermercats, comerços, lloguer de vehicles i activitats que ofereixen els hotels de la zona.
Accessibilitat
Tot i que és fàcil l’accés a la platja, no s’ha adaptat específicament per a persones amb mobilitat reduïda.
La nostra recomanació
Cala Blanca es una zona tranquil·la ideal per a famílies, té fàcil accés, zones d’ombra a la platja i els serveis bàsics necessaris a l’entorn. Es pot anar passejant a les cales properes de Santandria i Sa Caleta, fer senderisme o cicloturisme per la costa fins a Cala en Bosc, alguna activitat nàutica en caiac, paddle surf o de busseig.
Descripció general
La caleta d’en Gorries, a 3 km de Ciutadella, amb orientació sud-oest, és una petita cala situada just a la bocana de la cala veïna de Santandria i dominada per la torre de defensa des Castellar. Deu el nom a Antoni Gorrias, que des del segle XVI era el propietari de les terres que hi ha entre aquesta cala i cala Blanca. D’arena fina i tons blancs, i amb una zona verda amb àrea de pícnic darrere la platja, es troba en un entorn urbanitzat. Aquesta cala queda encaixada a la plataforma calcària del migjorn, i dona lloc a penyals de paret verticals de poca alçada, de manera que, juntament amb les aigües transparents i el fàcil accés, fa que estigui freqüentada per famílies i residents durant bona part de l’època estival.
Aquesta platja està certificada per AENOR amb un sistema de gestió ambiental segons la norma UNE:EN ISO 14001:2015.

Platja tipus A. Entorn urbà amb tot tipus de serveis. No disposa de servei de salvament i socorrisme.
Serveis
De juny a setembre disposa de servei d’abalisament, socorrisme, banys químics i dutxes. A l’estiu a la platja hi ha un quiosc, lloguer de gandules i para-sols. Al fons de la platja hi ha zona de pícnic.
A la zona a l’estiu hi ha allotjaments turístics, supermercat, lloguer de vehicles, algun comerç, bar, restaurant i activitats esportives. Durant tot l’any hi ha transport públic i farmàcia.
Accessibilitat
No presenta una adaptació específica per a persones amb mobilitat reduïda.
La nostra recomanació
Sa Caleta es una zona apropiada per a famílies, tranquil·la, de fàcil accés i propera a la ciutat. La cala es petita, familiar i té zones d’ombra. Es pot passejar fins a la cala de Santandria i Cala Blanca.

Santandria, a 4 km de Ciutadella, amb orientació oest, resulta una cala ben resguardada a causa del seu entrant estret i allargat. A banda i banda de l’entrant hi trobem un conjunt rocallós de poca alçada de tipus calcari, on a la zona de ponent s’hi habilita una zona de fondeig per a embarcacions a l’estiu. Hi destaquen la torre des Castellar, utilitzada com a torre de defensa anglesa el 1799, i les coves romanes a la part esquerra de la cala, mirant la mar. A mitjan segle XX neix el primer hotel turístic de Ciutadella a la part dreta d’aquesta cala, Ses Voltes de Santandria.

Platja adaptada a persones amb mobilitat reduïda, amb servei de banys i dutxes adaptats, monitor i cadira amfíbia (de juny a setembre).
La nostra recomanació
Santandria es una zona apropiada per a famílies, tranquil·la, de fàcil accés, amb els serveis bàsics i a prop de la ciutat. La cala es petita, familiar i amb zones d’ombra. Es pot passejar fàcilment a les cales que l’envolten, cala Blanca o Sa Caleta.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
General description
Cala Blanca is just 5 km south of Ciutadella and faces east. It owes its name to the pale colour of its sand. In the past, it had an important dunar system and leafy pine-trees, but these have now decreased considerably due to the surrounding urbanisation. It is exposed to the western wind and has an inlet of 250 metres opening out to a low rocky coastline on the western side. To the left of the entrance and looking out to sea lies the Cala Blanca islet. This stands out for its well-deserved reputation for a geological and historical heritage that includes many caves and openings from the Karstic era; in addition to Talayotic remains such as the Perelleta, a naveta structure beside the beach.
Although this is a tourist area, it is quiet and has some fantastic panoramic views of the sunset, while also being able to spot Mallorca’s profile in the distance.

There is parking, public transport, a picnic area, playground, nautical activities and restaurants throughout the year. From June to September there are lifeguard and buoy services, plus showers, sunbed and sunshade rentals. Over the summer there are more restaurants open, plus a chemist’s, supermarket, shops, car-rental offices and activities offered by the hotels in the area.
Accessibility
Although the access to the beach is easy, it has not been specifically adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Our recommendation
Cala Blanca is a quiet area that is perfect for families, with easy access, shaded spots on the beach and all essential services close by. You can walk to the nearby small bays of Santandria and Sa Caleta, hike or cycle along the coast towards Cala en Bosc, plus enjoy nautical activities like kayaking, paddle boarding or snorkelling.

The cove Caleta d’en Gorries is 3 km from Ciutadella and faces southwest. It is located right at the mouth of the neighbouring cove of Santandria, and dominated by the defence tower of Es Castellar. It owes its name to Antoni Gorrias, the owner of the land between this cove and Cala Blanca since the 16th century. With fine and pale sand and a green area with a picnic spot behind the beach, it is located in an urbanised setting. This cove is nestled into a limestone platform to the south, rising up to low vertical rock walls overlooking clear blue water. With easy access, it is frequented by families and residents for most of the summer season.

There is public transport and a chemist’s all year round.
Accessibility
There is no specific adaptation on the beach for people with reduced mobility.
Our recommendation
Sa Caleta is quiet and suitable for families, with easy access and close to the city. The cove is small with shaded areas. You walk to both the Santandria and Cala Blanca coves.

Santandria is 4 km from Ciutadella and faces west. It is a very sheltered cove due to its long and narrow inlet. This cove originally had just one beach but, due to urban pressure, it then divided into two. Both sides of the inlet are of low calcareous rock, with a buoy area for boat mooring in the west side for the summer. It is worth mentioning the Es Castellar tower, used as a defence tower by the British in 1799, plus the Roman caves on the right of the bay looking out to sea. Because of its accessibility, this cove has a friendly atmosphere and is very popular. The first tourist hotel was built in the mid-20th century in Ciutadella, and lies to the right of the cove, which is known as Ses Voltes de Santandria.
